Day four and the first morning of Kruger. The decision was made to try and find the cheetah that we had seen the previous evening, but really didn’t get a good look at. Unfortunately in this regard, we were unsuccessful. However it was still a good morning as we started by seeing a few interesting birds, particularly the little greenbacked heron, then, on the way to find the cheetah, our spotter saw a lion. We went off road to get to her and found a pride of three females, four cubs (around three months old) and a male. Also, on the way back to the lodge we saw a sharpe’s grysbok which is indigenous to the area.
The one that got away from us this morning was the wild cat. This looks like a tabby cat with a bit more of a bushy tail. One ran across the front of our jeep, but it was gone before I could snap a shot of it. Today’s pictured animals are:
