Went to Rutland Water in the hope of seeing an Osprey, but weren't really holding out much hope as we thought they may have left prior to our arrival. When we got to the kiosk thing, we found out there were a few still around, but at the other end of the lake with a big walk. So, I completely ignored that advice and set off towards the nearer hides, albeit walking about the same distance as we would have had to walk if we'd gone to the other location. I had taken a peak in the guest book and someone had written that the Ospreys were feeding on the lake we were heading towards, so it wasn't a complete disregard of advice as opposed to utilizing different information that was available. The guest book wasn't wrong. We saw the Osprey on our return journey at the hide where we were told they were. I'm blanking on the name, but the photos are geotagged, so you can figure it out.
