Time to take a break from worrying about what could go wrong with the house move, so off to Golden Gate park to see what we can find. Before we get there, take a quick look at a couple of photos I snapped from our back window of the sunset in the sunset. (I guess they called this neighborhood the sunset for a reason).
OK back to the stroll around the park, armed with my foghorn two and half year old running through the bushes I really didn't expect to see that much, but there were one or two things that hung around regardless of the noise. I quite like the American Robin if only for the fact that I imagine it going up to one of its European counterparts and saying “You call that a red breast! That's not a red breast. This is a red breast!” OK, maybe not, but it does have an American ring to it. Back to reality, I was quite pleased to see a lot of hummingbirds. Very difficult to photograph as they buzz around very quickly and are quite small. Fortunately I got a couple of them when they landed on branches. I'm still not 100% sure exactly the names of all the birds, but here's what I think is in these pictures:
