When I woke up this morning I thought I needed to get my head down and finish some work I've got outstanding - you know, the whole idea of catching up at the weekend. Well, that lasted for about two minutes and I decided not to think about work and to go out instead. Ran a quick search on Google (can't remember exactly what for) and came up with Don Edwards Refuge in the South Bay as being a likely target for an easy hike and the chance of seeing some different birds.
Seemed to work out quite well. I'm not 100% sure of the birds and have absolutely no idea what the insect is that's pictured in the middle. (The insect seemed to be a cross between a cricket and a moth). My best guess at the birds are:
