Last day of my parents visit and decided to take a quick trip to Lake Merritt being another spot guaranteed to produce a lot of wildlife. Again, it didn't disappoint - a lot of duck type birds. The day belonged to the Grebes with two additional ones being photographed (the western and horned, although the horned is not as elegant in the winter as it is in the summer). Also, got to see a black-chinned sparrow (at least that's what I think it is) in one of the nesting boxes around the lake. Birds photographed:
