Sonoma SSF Point By August 2019

My first time out at Sonoma and my first time with Speed SF. Sonoma is a very interesting track. Very different from Laguna Seca or Thunderhill as it's slower and more technical. You don't really need more power for this track as it really only helps in two places (after turns 6 and 11). There was a Mazda 3 that gave me a good run for my money - in the video you can see it ahead of me and I didn't get to it this time round because of traffic, but in another session we swapped places and had a lot of fun. There were also a lot of M3s and a couple of those were really fun too. It was a really good day, to be honest, but I have to admit that this track has me nervous because of how close the walls are in several places. Sadly a Porsche GT3 found this out in the advanced group.

The video is really bad. I was really focused on learning the track and not lap times so didn't bother setting the GoPro up and just used my phone on a very wobbly windshield mount. Apologies for the bongs - I had no idea what they were, but have since found that they are made by the app I'm using and I assume to let you know when you're getting near time of your best lap. The first couple of photos were snapped on my phone. The rest were provided by Speed SF themselves, so many thanks for that.
