The long independence weekend rolls around. Karen has plans for William and is taking him here there and everywhere, so I'm being let out alone. Time to see whether being alone would allow me to get closer to some of the birds I'm trying to photograph. It will be interesting to see whether it makes a difference without having all the whinging and whining noise .... oh .... and whether not having William running round my feet would make a difference too.
So, first day of the long weekend to that old favorite, Las Gallinas. Nice day, but didn't find anything new there. In fact, there was a surprising absence of any raptors or turkey vultures that are normally hanging around there somewhere. I did manage to get close to a couple of ravens, but that's not really that exciting. I thought I'd got a good picture of one coming in to land, but the picture seems to have kind of got washed out. I was hoping that it would look like a scene from a nightmare, but I'm not very happy with how it turned out. Anyway, the birds photographed are:
