Photos from a boat trip in Caño Negro National Park to the north of Costa Rica, near the Nicaragua border. I haven't got a thing for anhingas. The sequence of shots is of a female ahinga after it came up with a fish and battered it against the tree roots before tossing it up and swallowing it. I've only included about half a dozen pictures from that sequence here, but we watched this for quite a while (and there are many other photos).
I've also left one photograph in unedited on purpose. It's so you can play a little game of “spot the birdy.” I think it's pretty obvious which photo I'm referring to. If you don't find it, the next few photos are of the same bird and have been edited and cropped so you can see it much clearer.
