Early morning walk to Jewell Lake at Tilden. The first song sparrow photographed threw me as I thought it was a golden crowned kinglet. It just seems to have a leaf stuck on its head that kept flashing gold in the light. Other than that, was nice to see the Wilson's warblers out and I would have been very excited at seeing the black-headed grosbeak if it hadn't been for the fact that one had turned up in our garden the day before and had presented itself for us to look at.
