A log and summary of the Clan Wars battles I've been in with my clan “PwC Warriors”. There are links in some of the summaries to videos that highlight battles, talk tactics and show tips. The videos play from another page. Online streaming may be slow, so a download link is also provided.
We had a great run. Nine months unbeaten and the one we did lose, we think they were ghosting. But interest dropped and not enough people stayed on top of three star strategies. Things got said, people got upset and .... well, a few left. Tried to keep it running, but there just isn't the focus, so I left to join Emphatic Elite - a serious war clan. If you're interested, see videos from Emphatic.
The first war for the PwC Warriors and a fairly easy win in this 15 a side competition. We created 2 clans to provide the choice for those that want to focus on war and those that just want to enjoy the game as it is, farming with no pressure. The SPA-RTANS still live on strong and also won their last war so congratulations to them. The big different is that SPA-RTANS is very much a no pressure environment whereas the Warriors are going out there to win. Needless to say, I'm the leader of the Warriors .... no surprise there.

EastBayRag 4 stars (3 stars and a TH snipe as we'd won)
Another easy one and another 100% participation. We could have taken all 45 stars as we'd put 3 on their top folks. Their #2 had left an exposed town hall and our clan was queuing up to take it out for the loot (including me).

This looked like it was going to be our first real test, particularly given our poor record against Chinese clans in the Spartans, but we held strong and it ended up being quite easy. I'm told the clan name was something like “the heroes that will conquer the world” but I have no way to vouch that and they certainly didn't do any conquering in this war.
The video shows that they obviously didn't get the memo about hogs being susceptible to giant bombs!

Again, this looked like a really good match up with our first German opposition. It's one of those things where you want to win, but you want the other team to make a go of it and these guys didn't really show up, so it gave us our fourth win.
Rag 4 stars (50% snipe as we'd won)

First off, what kind of muppet puts a trademark symbol after their clan name? Losers I guess. This was a real mismatch. I have to say that there was no reason we should have won this as we were completely outgunned. We only had three Town Hall 9 and they had five, four of which were stronger than all of ours. Never the less, we put in some really strong attacks and managed to win, getting at least 2 stars on all their bases.
Rag 4 stars (2 solid 2 star raids, including first Go WiPe)
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 solid 2 star raids)
After the hardest battle we've ever had, comes the easiest. Rather disappointing that this team only managed 5 attacks. What was worse was that neither the leader, nor co-leader put in an attack, so whoever started the war, didn't even bother with it. I suspect this clan will disappear soon. They actually had 6 people leave the clan during the war itself. I'm guessing this is one of the many transient clans that spends most if its time on global trying to recruit folks that only stay for a day or two.
Rag 4 stars (3 stars and a TH snipe)
EastBayRag 4 stars (3 stars and a TH snipe)
Wow! This was a really good match up and a great war. They did have one Town Hall 10 that I failed against, but overall, it was a very balanced war and our closest one yet. Our clan has become pretty strong with its attacks and this week showed it as we won based on the strength of those attacks. Maximizing the 3 stars where possible. Also worth noting that this was our first 20 person war.
Rag 3 stars (3 stars and a fail against their top person)
EastBayRag 6 stars
I have to be honest, this war really confused me as it was our worst mismatch to date. We are up to five Town Hall 9 now, but these guys had two Town Hall 10 and four Town Hall 9. Four of their bases were stronger than any of ours. I almost wrote this one off, but they didn't manage to get their attacks in and the ones that did were kind of weird. It was like they had a fetish for witches, but had no idea how to use them. One attack used golems and hogs which is a crazy bad combination. The odd valkyrie was thrown in here and there. Noting really made sense, which is probably why we won quite easily.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 3 stars (great 3 star raid, but fail against a TH 10)
Our first match up against a clan from Japan. We've had a few more folks join and we now have a congingent of six Town Hall 9. This clan had 3 Town Hall 10 and 5 Town Hall 9. That said, this didn't feel like too bad a match up. Only their top base looked difficult and in fact that was the only base that proved challenging. 9 straight wins and we keep marching on!
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 6 stars
What is it with these trademark names? Do you think you're original or that you're going to sue someone if they copy you? Anyway, our tenth battle as the Warriors and this week we travel to Vietnam. This actually looked like a really good match up - the sides looked pretty similar and these guys had really good base designs. That said, their attacks were somewhat lacking and we were never threatened. Interestingly enough, they tried to cheat at the beginning. One of their team tried to join our clan after the war started, presumably so he could screenshot our bases and see where all the hidden traps were. Possibly also to see what we were putting in our clan castles. Still, you know what they say about cheats.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 4 stars (loot raid on their #1 as we'd won)
Well, I guess it had to happen. 10 straight wins and we walk into our first defeat. In our defense, we were outgunned again and these guys brought their attacks. Whilst I will console myself, I will also congratulate our opponents as they still had to get past our defenses and they did put some good attacks in. These guys had 8 TH9 against our 6 which did edge the match in their favor as it means they have 4 extra high level attacks.
(Supplemental edit - during this period we came up against a lot of clans that were cheating by ghosting. None of us could figure out why our enemies kept looking like they were attacking, but nothing happened. I can't remember if this was one of those teams or not, but something tells me it was. The fact that they had so many perfect attacks makes me think they only won by cheating ... sadly nothing we can do about it now!)
Rag 4 stars
EastBayRag 4 stars
Another mismatch, but this one was way in our favor. These guys only had 4 TH9 against our 6 which really does make a difference. It's great to win, but you want it to be a fair fight.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
This was a good match up. Both sides had 6 high level players ... well, if you call TH9 high level. There were some shocking attacks I have to say. Some of the folks that you normally look to get 3 stars ended up with failed attacks. I'm going to be honest, we only just won this by having enough coverage in the sense that we had just enough attacks so that we got a good attack in on all the bases. There were no spare attacks at the end
Rag 4 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
Another mismatch, but this one in our favor. This really didn't look like a fair contest from the start and it turned out not to be. Always nice to win and there were some good attacks, but it would have been better if we were against a team more evenly matched.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
Probably the fairest match up we've had since we started and it proved to be the case on the battlefield. We just managed to scrape a 54 52 win against another Chinese clan. I have to be honest, one of the factors in the win was that we got a lot of our attacks and our enemy missed a few. That said, we need to take credit for a great win - and one against a clan that had 57 prior victories, so obviously used to fighting was and winning.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
Another good match up. This war started quite badly. We struggled to find a way through their defenses as they were pretty well protected against dragons. Hogs seemed to provide the answer and we soon started to put the 3 star raids on the board and ended up with a pretty convincing win.
Rag 3 stars (2 and 1 star)
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 x 2 stars)
A few holidays and we had to drop down to a 15 person team this week. A good matchup and one that we came through really well. We're now seeing most of our top attacks be done with GoWiWi or GoWiPe, so defininately moved up in the world.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
Holidays over and we're back up to 20 people again. A difficult match where we were slightly the underdog - they had one TH10 and 7 TH9 to our 7TH9, but it didn't matter. In fact the war was really won with our TH8s as they managed to hold off some of their attacks. We 3 starred all their TH8 and some of their TH9, whereas they did not manage to get through our bottom folks. Poor old Epic got attacked 6 times before he finally went down 3 stars which is great as it takes their attacks off others.
Rag 4 stars (2 x 2 stars)
EastBayRag 5 stars
Almost the same match as the previous week. Both these match ups had 7 TH9 on either side making it fairly even. We were a little weaker on the lower end with 2 TH7 and they only had TH8s and 9s. That said, our top TH9 probably a bit stronger than theirs. Again, this war was won with the TH8 defenses. The TH9 battles were honors even as both teams put 3 stars on 2 bases and 2 stars on the other 5. We 3 starred all their TH8, but 5 of ours held. Kleinblaar holding for a second week and forcing several attacks on his base. This was a great win given our opposition had 70 wins under their belt, so they definitely knew what they were doing.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 x 2 stars)
A very odd match this one. For a start, this was the opposite of last week as our opponents had not won a war, however, they seemed very accomplished and particular credit needs to go to their top player who demolished both my bases. Additionally, this was my worst attacking ever as I had two goes at his base and failed with both attempts. Good to know that the clan is willing to carry me when I have a really bad week. The other thing was that their top 2 were TH9 with a lot of level 10 walls, but had not completed all their defensive upgrades which made me think they were using bots of some sort to generate the gold (it was clearly raided by their gold grab stats). Anyway, the clan came through and another good win.
Rag 2 stars
EastBayRag 3 stars
A complete massacre and our best score yet. Only one point away from a perfect score. Not really sure who our opponents were, but they didn't bother showing up as well as not having the best bases out there. We managed to 3 star all but their top person and that was close .... I almost had his last inferno tower, but it just held on long enough to survive.
Rag 6 stars
EastBayRag 3 stars (loot raid and 2 stars on top guy)
I was a bit worried that after last week's easy war we would be pitched against much harder opponents, but it seems we got more or less the same draw. Hard to understand how these clans are wining so many wars - last week's opponents had 45 wins and this week had 35. My guess is that they must lose a lot as well. I do think that we're drawing against kids that get disheartened when we get off to a good start. There's a core in the clan that get on early and get their attacks in which puts pressure on the opponents. All that said, I'm annoyed that we didn't manage the perfect score. This was definitely the week we could have done it and I have to take some of the responsibility. I switched tactics on one of the bases and attacked using dragons instead of GoWiWi. The dragon attack ended up with 99% as a last seeking air mine took out my last dragon as it was about to complete the raid. This meant I had to use another attack to get that last star and that meant I didn't have a raid left over to attack the one base we failed on. Oh well, bit of a shame as I'm not sure when we'll get as good a draw as this again to do it.
Rag 6 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
A little bit better of a match up and some base designs that caused us a few problems at the start, but a comfortable win and I have to be honest, we were the stronger clan .... not just in defense, but our attack capabilities were also a lot more than our opponents. They had a few failed attacks on our TH9 and both mine remained intact at the end.

Continuing our march around the world, this week we find ourselves in Chile. We were outgunned on this one - our one TH10 versus their three TH10, all with infernos and upgraded spell factories. It didn't make a difference as their attack capabilities were far behind their defense so we were able to hold strong. We did have some challenges getting going, but we got where we needed to be in the end. We should have had a few more stars, but as you will see from the notes below, EBR had a failed week and not just due to my abilities.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 0 stars (failed push on TH10 and connection dropped)
Interesting from so many angles this war ... let's start with the fact that it's our first draw. We really should have won, but they pulled off a couple of amazing attacks in the dying seconds (including 3 starring my main base) to pull off the draw. Credit where credit's due, some good attacks. That said, they had a maxed TH10 account donating troops to their clan castles and they only got some of their stars due to the level 5 pekkas they were using. Technically not cheating, but definitely gaming the system ... wouldn't we all if we could? Anyway, after the war, they congratulated us and I went to their clan for a quick chat. They were really nice guys and I wish them all the best, but it's hard not to feel a little cheated. Still, at least we didn't lose!

An Indonesian clan this time. Pretty sure it was kids and there was a high drop out rate on our opponents side. It's pretty clear that the more serious clans get their attacks in early. Those that don't, just don't seem to come. I also think there's lower participation from clans that war all the time. Still, good practice.
Rag 4 stars (2 + 2)
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 + 2)
I'm pretty sure this clan was from Japan, although they had the location set to Thailand for some reason. Regardless, this was a fairly straight forward war that didn't create a lot of problems. A pretty comfortable win. The interesting thing was that they had a lot of witches in their clan castles that caused a lot of problems for our dragon attacks. What was happening was that our guys were putting their Barb Kings in before the cc troops were destroyed. The skeletons, not being able to attack the dragons were running across the map to the barb kings and pulling the dragons with them. On several occasions the dragons were pulled from the center of the map and taken to the outside where they were then picked off by the air defenses.

Our first war with 25 people and a very lucky one. To be honest, I think we only won due to participation or lack of on our opponents side. Their #2 didn't attack - I did notice that his Barb King was upgrading and that may have been the reason, but had he attacked and the person who attacked me taken on a lower base, they could have made 65. Still, it's nice to have a bit of luck. My one star attack on their TH10 was our bad luck as I got the Town Hall down to one more hit, but it held on and I wasn't able to destroy it. Thankfully I made the 50% star.

Well, this was a very interesting war. First off, a big welcome to our friends from the Philippines. We had three folks join from down there and they've made an immediate impact. So, to the war. Probably one of the worst mismatches we've had. They had 6 Town Hall 10 to our 2. All with inferno towers. However, they were one of the most useless attacking clans we've come across. Their Town Hall 10's were struggling to get 2 stars on our Town Hall 8. Additionally, their bases were pretty poorly designed and we put 2 or 3 stars on all of them except their top base. I did take a crack at the top one, but it was a push too far - maxed infernos and xbows just a bit too much for my level 1 freeze spells. Still, my lab has upgraded and we'll start to upgrade those spells soon.
Rag 2 stars (great 2 star and fail on top base)
EastBayRag 6 stars
Another mismatch from the perspective that our opponents had four Town Hall 10 to our 2. Two of them had max infernos and one had max troops and spells. Same story as last week though, we are better attackers and it showed at the end of the day. Quite pleased my new base held to 1 star from maxed troops, particularly as I'm nowhere near upgraded to what I would consider a strong base. We did get a visit again at the end of this war and again, nice person, so I will wish Shieldrack all the best with future wars and hope they learned a bit from our attacks and bases. I guess that's the challenge to the game ... any advantage you have goes after you've warred someone as they will know your tactics and can apply them themselves.
Rag 3 stars (1 + 2)
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 + 2)
Up to 30 people for war and still going strong. Another mismatch for 3 weeks running as they had 4 town hall 10 (5 if you include one that was very rushed), but they were complete gemmers and as such, had no idea how to attack. Their top person had a gold grab of 15m and a maxed based defense wise (not walls) and most troops maxed. I'll be honest, it seemed like a very young kid that's got hold of their parent's credit card. They actually failed attacks against our TH8 which is crazy.
Rag 4 stars (2 + 2)
EastBayRag 6 stars
Another mismatch, but in our favor this time. Or was it? We all thought it was probably because we've been badly matched the last three weeks. These guys had four Town Hall 10, but only two of them had inferno towers. They also had a lot more Town Hall 9 than we did, but not very well upgraded. Regardless, seemed to be another clan of kids that didn't know how to attack. Again we come up against clans that have players with maxed dragons, lava hounds, balloons and minions but no clue how to use them. I keep expecting quatrolavaloonion and am very interested in how my base holds up to it, but these guys attack our TH8 with maxed air troops and only get one or two stars. Anyway, the winning streak keeps on rolling. The attack of the game goes to one of our opponents that used a heal spell on two archers and a jump spell on dragons.

I guess 80 points is our new standard when warring with 30 people. Third week of 30 and third week of scoring 80 stars. This week was much harder than the previous two, but we held strong in defense and put some very good attacks in. Again, we're winning in the lower levels by making sure we 3 star all their bottom bases and at least 2 starring the rest. Well, I have to admit to the fail on their TH10 this week due to my wandering pekka ... so frustrating - they targeted the right building and started in the right direction, buy my wiz took the building out before the pekka got there and the retarget took them wayward. Not to worry though, great win.
Rag 2 stars (1 + 1)
EastBayRag 5 stars
Our best win with 30 people so far. We were up against a stronger clan with stronger players/troops, but we held strong again. Our record is being maintained by our consistent dominance at the lower levels. We seem to be far more efficient at getting all the low level stars whilst plucking away at the top ones. With Cuki out, I ended up being our lone TH10 against 2 on the opposing team. They elected not to attack me so my base went unscathed again.
Rag 3 stars (1 + 2)
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 + 2)
Another good win against a pretty fair match. Their top was maxed, but other than that, we had pretty even teams. It's funny, we keep coming up against these maxed accounts that have obviously gemmed to get there and they really don't know how to attack. Seems Supercell makes a lot of money of people that are not very good. I suppose if you know what you're doing, you don't need the max troops, so it does kind of make sense.
Rag 5 stars
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 + 2)
Not sure we've taken on a clan from Malaysia, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. A reasonably straight forward war. Thier top base was reasonably hard, but I messed up on their #2 and should have really got 2 stars. At least it didn't matter this week.
Rag 2 stars (1 + 1)
EastBayRag 4 stars (2 + 2)
Our first re-match and against a great clan - one of the friendly ones we chatted with before. I also went and chatted with them again after this war. Well, they've improved significantly since our last match and we were quite lucky on this one. We had trouble with some of our early attacks and were challenged to 3 star all their TH8. In fact, EBR had to clean up one of their TH8 with the last attack. So participation was the main reason we won - we got all our attacks in, but we were also helped by their #1 forgetting to change his base back from a decoy base. I'll be honest, it still had me worried as was desparately trying to figure out how to 3 star it and I did. Also 3 starred their other TH10 which had the Chief Pat base design. Well, this is our 26th win on the trot so we are unbeaten in 6 months - pretty amazing really.
Rag 6 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
From hero to zero! Last week I three starred both the TH10s, but this week I only managed one on both of them together. Their #1 did have max defenses bar a single canon upgrading to level 13. That said, it was wandering pekka that caused me to fail. I just hadn't cleared enough external structures before I put my pekka in ... well, that and the fact that I put a bunch of wizards in on top of a giant bomb. The thing is, because they had two very high level accounts, we were stronger with everyone else, so it turned out to be a relatively easy war in the end. Went for a quick chat after the war with these guys - good clan.
Rag 1 stars
EastBayRag 5 stars
A good match up in the sense that both sides only had one TH10. We were slightly stronger and I had the more powerful attack, but they had the more powerful defense. We ended up tripping up on their TH9 and didn't manage to two star all of them, but we did get some good three stars. Another good win though in our continued unbeaten streak.
Rag 4 stars (2 + 2)
EastBayRag 3 stars (2 + 1)
Another good match up with both clans having one TH10 each. They had more TH9 than we did, but many of them were only a week or two into being TH9 so didn't yet have the upgraded spell factory or additional troops. Had a quick chat with this clan after - good guys, so wish them all the best in future wars.

The first of our bonus wars. There is currently double clan XP on for a week and the clan voted to slip in some extra wars to boost our level. Only warring once a week means we don't level up as fast as other clans. A slight mismatch as they had two TH10 ... one didn't have infernos though, but did have max troops so they did have an advantage. I completely messed up a simple TH9 attack that resulted in a only a single star which made the war a lot closer than it should have been. Good war though.
Rag 2 stars (1 + 1)

The second of our bonus wars and back to a reasonable performance and win. My base held and I two starred their TH10 which gave us a huge advantage. Also allowed me to get a lavaloonion attempt in with no risk which worked perfectly and resulted in three stars.

This was actually one of the most enjoyable wars to date. Good match up, one TH 10 each. They had a few more TH9, but there were several new ones. There were a couple of fails, but on the whole, we pulled out some pretty good attacks.

The first time in a very long time I've had a 12 star war. Made possible by their #1 having a very easy base. I guess it might not have been that easy from the ground, but all his xbows were set to ground and his air defenses were two at the top, two at the bottom and close enough so I could freeze them. I used dragons, which I've not used in a very long time and the first time I've used level 4 dragons. Simply came from the top, froze the top two air defenses, healed, then raged through the town hall and infernos. Used Barb King to distract archer tower at bottom, dropped cc with 7 balloons onto it, then 2x2 balloons at the side with a rage onto defenses, froze bottom ads, loons flew over and it was all done! Quite pleased with this one.

This was a crazy war. The first war with the air sweeper ... aka fart machine. I'm not sure yet exactly what impact it had and will need to see next war, but all our TH8 failed like crazy to start. Dragons just weren't working and I don't think it was just down to the pooter as several bases didn't have it built. In the end, we came through really strong. None of their TH10 attacked me and we three starred all three of theirs giving us a convincing win.

A fantastic close war. They slightly edged us on strength, but not by that much. One TH10 each, but they had an extra TH9 and didn't have a TH7 so just slightly stronger. Have to give credit to a great clan from Columbia - they really brought it and were very unlucky. They had one player drop out causing them to be two attacks short and they had one TH9 leave a decoy base up allowing us an easy 3 stars. Very pleased with my first GoHo this war which is on the video below.
Rag 4 stars

A great war from the standpoint that we were outgunned, but managed to come through. These guys had more TH10 and their TH9 were stronger. On top of that, they were a level 5 clan whilst we're still level 3. A well coordinated war on our part that contributed a lot to the win, but some hiccups along the way. Not least of which was my fail on their #2. It happens. I sent my troops in and raged them to take the defending clan castle out on the fly. I hadn't noticed the 2x2 square I'd raged and watched as all my wizards and witches darted forward onto a giant bomb ... and blew up. I was left with golems and pekkas, but there was a witch in the clan castle that kept my troops occupied whilst the defenses picked them off. I did make up for it with two 3 star attacks from EBR - a nice GoHo and a 10 witch GoWiWi on a really badly designed base.

Before creating the PwC Warriors clan I was in the PwC SPA-rtans. I was in the Spartans when clan wars came out. It was pretty obvious from the start that a few of us wanted to take clan wars seriously whilst others were more casual which is why I created the break away clan. You can view the PwC SPA-rtans war log during the time I was there.
